    Description

    1883 Medal & Ribbon Auxiliary to Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
    Remarkably good condition with no fraying of the ribbon. I looked at others on eBay & this one is different, primarily in the top bar which reads
    "
    Auxiliary to Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War"
    Also the
    "SV"
    is not present on the bottom lobe of the medal. This same wording with the date 1883 is carried on the band around the eagle in the center. Likewise on the reverse, but the center carries the letters "AUSV" instead of the eagle. The only down point that I see in this medal is that someone put a varnish on the drop to make it shiny,
