You may have seen this item before. Here is what happened:
It was sold on July 27; the buyer returned it with the following comment:
I bought this shutter assembly to install in a camera that I have, but the shop that is doing the work informed me that it will not fit in the camera. Therefore I cannot use this as I was hoping to. I have to return this for a refund. Sorry for the inconvenience, I wish I could keep it because the glass is super nice, but I can’t use it to restore my camera.
Since the item came from a 2.8E Rolleiflex (I still have the camera body), I asked what camera it did not fit and got the following response:
I had the shop attempt to put the assembly in a 2.8 E2 body. The cameras are nearly identical and I figured it would work because I compared this assembly to the damaged one that I have, before I bid on the auction. Apparently, the holes that mount the assembly to the body are narrower on the 2.8 E2 than they are on the 2.8E, so it could never be mounted and aligned properly to my camera.
